Common Questions about the Opioid Problem.

Let’s start with this…opioids are powerful drugs that act on the nervous system to relieve pain.  Traditionally these drugs have been used by people who are recovering from surgery or are coping with highly painful injuries.  Pure and simple they are narcotics!  So that means they affect your mood and your behavior.

Why is everyone up to, and including President Trump, calling this an epidemic?  Prescription opioids were initially administered primarily for short-term bouts of pain - then came the 1990’s.  Doctors began to prescribe them more to treat chronic pain.  Long-term use led to higher levels of addiction and overdoses.

That is where Blu By the Sea comes in.  Blu By the Sea is an opioid treatment addiction center on the breathtaking northern shores of the Gulf of Mexico.  Peace and tranquility reign supreme as you get away from the addiction and the pain.  Please arrange for a visit to their facility by calling (850) 424-3252 later today.

Do You Want to Spend Some Time in a Spa?

Maybe your life has spun out of control.  Perhaps you have let opioids grab you and control you.  One out of every four Americans knows someone who is hooked on one or more opioids.  That is not just alarming any more…that is a full-blown epidemic!  It is time to take action before this addiction takes the life of you or someone you love.

Let’s agree that treatment is a better option than law enforcement.  Locking someone up while they detox is archaic at best.  What if you could not only heal, but do so in an environment that is safe, friendly, and beautiful?  It is one that borders the breathtaking shores of the Gulf of Mexico.  And one that has its own spa.

Believe it or not, just such a place actually exists!  It is called Blu By the Sea.  It is located in Destin, Florida on the northern shores of the Gulf of Mexico.  You probably won’t believe it until you visit the facility or at least the website at www.blubythesea.com.  Please give them a call and start fighting back against opioid addiction at (850) 424-3252.

A True National Crisis.

Heroin use has increased on a national scale by more than 60% in the last few years.  Chances are, you know of someone caught in this insidious trap.  How did this happen?  The obvious answer is the increased use of prescription opioids.  Three-quarters of new heroin users started out abusing prescription painkillers.

Here are some of the characteristics of injection drug users.  An equal number (approximately 38% are black or white).  About 20% are Hispanic.  Drugs kill ALL races, creeds, and colors!  Young users are more likely to share needles.  One-third of injection drug users classified as Millennials are also believed to have hepatitis C.

Grab this monster by the throat and fight back!  If you or a loved one are locked in a nightmare of heroin addiction seek help immediately.  Please direct your attention to www.blubythesea.com.  They are a Florida Panhandle rehabilitation center where redemption can begin.  Please call them at (850) 424-3252.

Five Hundred Tons of Meth.

That seems like a bad joke doesn’t it?  Believe it or not, the United Nations Office on Drugs estimated that the world-wide production of methamphetamine and other related drugs is a staggering five hundred tons per year.  Even worse, it is also estimated that there are nearly 25 million users!

In the United States, the percentage of drug treatment admissions due to methamphetamine and amphetamine abuse tripled from 3% in 1996 to 9% in 2006.  You can be sure it is even higher today.  In some U.S. states nearly half of all of the drug treatment from people seeking help were methamphetamine users.

Stop the madness!  If your family is effected by the ravages of this insidious drug then it is time to fight back.  Blu By the Sea may be the answer for you and your family.  Located on the breathtaking shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Destin Florida, Blu By the Sea will tackle your meth addiction.  Please call them today at (850) 424-3252.

The Opioid Epidemic.

It has become truly insidious.  More than 33,000 Americans died from opioids in the most recent reporting year of 2015 and you can be sure that 2016 was even worse.  That statistic comes directly from the Center for Disease Control.  What is most alarming is that about half of those deaths come from perfectly legal prescription drugs!

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been put in charge of a new commission which has been tasked to make recommendations on how to curb the epidemic that is killing nearly 80 of our citizens every day.  One of the first things Christie said was “we can help people by getting them the appropriate treatment”.

What is the appropriate treatment for you or a loved one who has become dependent on opioids for daily comfort?  May we suggest the breathtaking shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Destin Florida?  That is the home of opioid addiction center Blu By the Sea.  Please visit the website www.blubythesea.com then call to arrange a visit at (850) 424-3252.

Physical vs. Psychological Addiction.

It seems simple, but it makes all the difference when it comes to fighting and beating a drug addiction.  When a person does not have a physical dependence to a particular drug, but rather a mental desire to do it repeatedly the habit is psychological.  It is the most common and can occur with virtually any substance.

Physical addiction, on the other hand, is caused by the chronic use of a drug (or drugs) building up a tolerance.  Withdrawal from those drugs results in very unpleasant side-effects such as flu-like-symptoms, fatigue, depression, excessive anxiety, and the desire to sleep most of the time.  In short it inhibits one’s ability to function normally.

When you recognize physical addiction in yourself or a loved one it may be time to get away.  I mean way far away to a place that will help you fight for your life.  That place may well be Florida addiction treatment center Blu By the Sea.  Call us to arrange a visit to this extraordinary facility on the Gulf of Mexico at (850) 424-3252.

Substance Abuse and Brain Development.

When a young brain is in its developmental stage things can go a number of different ways.  Obviously, anything that developing brains are subjected to will affect the maturation process.  If drugs and/or alcohol enters the mix the results can have life-long profound impact when that brain transitions into adulthood.

What is myelination?  The maturing structure of the individual brain regions and their connecting pathways is essential for the successful development of cognitive, motor, and sensory functions.  We know drugs and alcohol to be mind-altering.  You have heard that term since the days of Timothy Leary.  Sometimes we tend not to take that seriously.

Drug and alcohol consumption during the formative teenage years can be catastrophic to future development.  Get a handle on it now.  Please visit our website www.blubythesea.com.  It will unveil new hope for the future.  Begin to heal on the northern shores of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.  Call to arrange a visit at (850) 424-3252.

Be Honest…When Have You Crossed the Line?

Hey, I only drink on occasion.  What’s the occasion?  Oh, days ending in the letter “Y”.  You can make all of the jokes that you want, but it is 2017 now and time for the most important decisions of your lifetime.  How often do you or a loved one drink alcohol?  It doesn’t matter if your personality is only slightly effected.  Try telling that to your liver.

The difference between abuse and addiction is razor thin.  When that line is crossed there is only one answer…HELP.  Addiction means psychological as well as physical dependency.  Your body and your mind craves alcohol every day.  Then comes the tolerance that gives you a false sense of security.

Let this be the year that you or someone you know tackle this green-eyed monster.  In Florida on the breathtaking Gulf Coast you have the opportunity to fight the ravages of alcohol abuse.  It is called Blu By The Sea.  We are an alcohol rehabilitation center on Florida’s panhandle.  Please visit our website at www.blubythesea.com and view the details of our facility located in Destin Florida.  Please call today at (850) 424-3252.

Methamphetamines…the Scourge of the New Year.

You may have heard it referred to as speed, crystal ice, chalk, and meth.  A drug by any other name is very destructive.  Thousands of Americans will die in 2017 because of methamphetamines.  It is no joke.  This is not a recreational drug.  It is destroying lives from coast to coast and if you have discovered over the holidays that a loved one is hooked, you need to take action!

No matter how it is used it will eventually end up in the bloodstream and is circulated throughout the brain.  The part that it affects most is the areas of your brain that contain a chemical called dopamine.  Dopamine is often called the “pleasure transmitter” because it helps you feel good.  Methamphetamines tamper with dopamine.  So when your body “crashes” the craving for more of the drug begins.

The New Year should have many resolutions.  The most important one you can make for yourself and/or a loved one is discovering Blu By the Sea.  This remarkable rehabilitation center is located on the beautiful shores of the Gulf of Mexico.  Take a virtual visit for yourself and type in www.blubythesea.com.  This could change your life well beyond 2017.

Is it Time For an Intervention?

Family and friends are gathering together this holiday season.  It is a time for great joy and renewal of the spirit.  It may also be a time for coming to terms with the “elephant in the room”.  As you make plans to be with those you care about look inside yourself and ask…is everyone living a healthy lifestyle that can be sustained into 2017 and beyond?

These are tough questions to ask and MUCH tougher to address.  It may be important to touch base with some of the friends and relatives with whom you will be gathering before Christmas to strategize how you wish to handle a holiday intervention.  This may be one of the most important times in the life of your loved one.

The only mistake is ignoring an ongoing problem.  It will probably end in disaster.  Please remember that Blu By The Sea is a rehabilitation center for substance abuse located on the beautiful shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s panhandle.  It may be the right place for a loved one with a substance abuse problem.  Visit www.blubythesea.com.  Call today for more information at (850) 424-3252.

How Does Your Brain Respond to Cocaine?

Cocaine is considered a stimulant.  The last time you had a cup of coffee you experienced a legal, low dose of stimulation.  You probably also know that drinking too much caffeine makes you feel jittery, or overly energetic.  When you ingest a stimulant it changes the way your brain works.  This is a tiny example of what cocaine does to the brain.

When one does cocaine they have gone to the “big leagues” of stimulation.  Not only is it illegal…duh, but it is very dangerous as well.  Cocaine comes from the leaf of the coca plant.  It is either inhaled as a white powder through the nose or, in another form it is smoked when it is transformed into another version known as “crack”.

Remember when Jack Nicholson said “you can’t handle the truth”!  Well, you can’t handle this drug even if you think you can.  Blu By The Sea is a cocaine addiction rehabilitation center located on the beautiful shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s panhandle.  It may be the perfect place to “kick the coke”.  Visit www.blubythesea.com.  Call today for more information at (850) 424-3252.

The Five Most Addictive Drugs on the Streets.

Knowledge is power.  Knowing the street’s most addictive drugs is important.  If you want to live long and prosper these are good things to avoid.  Earlier this month we discussed the ravages of alcohol abuse.  This time we want you to be aware of some of the most insidious drugs in America.  If any of these or others have become a pervasive part of your life, we may have an answer.

1.  Heroin.  No surprise here, it has found its way into every segment of our society.
2.  Cocaine.  The first reaction is euphoria.  Your brain quickly becomes used to it.
3.  Methamphetamines.  Users are always “chasing” that initial high and never find it.
4.  Prescription drugs.  They may be legal, but they are just as addictive as street drugs.
5.  Alcohol.  Need we say more?  Legal, but lethal if misused.

Here is a suggestion.  Do some research on the web and read about a place called Blu By The Sea.  We are a drug rehabilitation center located on the beautiful shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s panhandle.  We may have some life-saving answers for you or a loved one.  Visit www.blubythesea.com.  Call today for more information at (850) 424-3252.

Kidney Failure from Alcohol Abuse.

This forum is not designed for personal reflections.  It is meant to inform and possibly educate.  This time, however the two have melded together.  I hope that you will indulge me for a minute and maybe gain something from this short personal narrative.  Heaven knows, that this summer has been a life-altering time for me and maybe one of you can avoid this fate.

Over the last three months I have lost two very important people in my life in their 50s.  That is simply too soon to depart this life.  In both cases, friends and family looked the other way as these individuals consumed an enormous amount of alcohol.  Neither one of them was an “angry drunk” so their overindulgence was tolerated.  Now it is too late.

Are you making the same mistake that I did?  Please don’t!  May I suggest that you research Blu By The Sea a holistic alcohol and drug rehabilitation center located on the beautiful shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s panhandle.  They may have some life-saving answers.  Visit www.blubythesea.com.  Give them a call today at (850) 424-3252.

How does Drug Addiction affect the Brain?

Few would disagree that drug addiction over time will have a profound effect on the body.  What about the brain?  It is obviously our body’s most important organ.  Interestingly, in studies it has been shown that our brain’s ability to adapt leads to even more addiction.  It does not shut down like your heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, etc.  It evolves as far as it can to keep the body going.

From what experts know there are at least a few fundamental ways that an addict’s brain changes…

1.  Our brains have natural balance.  That changes for the worse with drug addiction.
2.  The very chemistry in the brain evolves.
3.  Over time, the brain’s ability to communicate with the rest of our body alters.
4.  In short, the very structure of our most important organ is off-course.

Addiction does not have to be the end.  Recognizing addiction may be the beginning.  Properly treating it may be the ticket to a long and healthier life.  Blu By The Sea is an addiction rehabilitation center located on the breath-taking shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s panhandle.  We may have the life-saving answers you seek. Prescription Painkillers and Older Americans.

Earlier this month we discussed the growing epidemic of prescription painkillers in the US.  At the time we focused on the younger generation.  What about mom and dad?  They are the growing number of senior citizens who are misusing prescribed pain killing medications.  About 20 years ago doctors started concentrating some of their treatment on the level of pain a patient was experiencing.

Now, in the middle of the second decade of the 21st century the number of opioid-based pain medication deaths among Americans over 50 has increased over 10 times from what it was at the turn of the century!  There are precautions that you can take when a loved one over 50 is abusing these drugs.  Is he or she using more than one doctor or pharmacy?  Are you seeing signs of addiction?  Ask them about which pills and the amount that they are taking.

These steps and many more help in the fight to keep mom and dad around for many years to come.  Blu By The Sea is a prescription drug rehabilitation center located on the breath-taking shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s panhandle.  See if your beloved senior might benefit from our facility.   Visit www.blubythesea.com.  Give us a call today at (850) 424-3252.

The Dangers of Prescription Painkillers.

The death of music icon Prince has brought this issue to the forefront again.  America has a painkiller misuse epidemic.  According to the most recent available statistics, more than five million Americans abused prescription drugs.  Just take the category of high school seniors.  The most common abused drug after marijuana was some type of medically prescribed prescription painkiller.

What is the target for this type of abuse?  Well, nearly two-thirds of Americans going into treatment for painkiller addiction were between the ages of 12 and 30.  The number may be higher in that these statistics only include publically funded treatment programs.  As you can see our country’s future is at stake here!

We want to be a part of the healing.  The time is now to nip this problem in the bud.  Blu By The Sea is a prescription drug rehabilitation center located on the beautiful shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s panhandle.  Please take some time and browse our website at www.blubythesea.com and make a summer visit to our facility located in Destin Florida.  Give us a call today at (850) 424-3252.

Adults Living with Addiction Denial.

How many people in America are addicted to a prescription drug, alcohol, or something illegal and deny the fact that they have a dependency?  The number must be staggering.  It is likely that you have someone in your life who does too much of a bad thing and then gets very defensive when the subject is broached…sound familiar?

An intervention would be nice.  In an ideal world we would all gather around and sing kumbaya and the victim would immediately seek help.  We all know that more often than not it is a far more complicated process.  It is not, however an insurmountable one.  In the case of addiction love may truly conquer all.  A show of unity and strength is essential to save the life of a loved one.

Before you tackle this green-eyed monster, become familiar with a remarkable place in Florida on the breathtaking Gulf Coast to find help for drug and alcohol addiction.  It is called Blu By The Sea.  We are an addiction treatment center located in Florida’s panhandle on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico.  Please visit our website at www.blubythesea.com and view the details of our facility located in Destin Florida.  Please call us today at (850) 424-3252.
